Yak-38 (Forger)
Yakovlev · USSR
The Yak-38 used a unique (and complex) system of one main engine with swiveling nozzles and two dedicated vertical lift engines behind the cockpit. While less capable than the Harrier, it provided the Soviet Kiev-class carriers with their first fixed-wing air component.
