Unveiled at the Farnborough Airshow in 1992, the Su-27M (later Su-35) introduced canards, a glass cockpit, and an upgraded N011 radar. It was the first Russian attempt to turn the air-superiority Flanker into a "4++ Generation" multi-role fighter capable of precision ground attack.
