The "Mission Enhanced Little Bird" (MELB) program in 1998 upgraded the MH-6 with a six-blade main rotor and a four-blade tail rotor. This gave the Special Ops "Night Stalkers" better lift and control for rooftop insertions and high-speed urban combat.
