DC-7C Seven Seas
Douglas · USA
The DC-7C was the first aircraft capable of crossing the Atlantic in both directions regardless of wind. It was the fastest and longest-ranged piston airliner ever built, featuring massive "Turbo-Compound" engines that recovered energy from exhaust gases.
